Are You Sure That's Rice?
We gave Caroline her first taste of "real" food last week. Look how cute she is in her high chair.
She even helped with the first spoonful.
I think she's caught on that this is some strange rice. Here she's telling daddy that she's not too sure about this.
It looks like there's more on her face than in her mouth.
Now she's just relieved it's over.

Caroline's First Carolina Game
Caroline's first UNC football game was against UVA. Here she is with her mother early in the game.

Caroline's Firsts
Caroline has been traveling this past month. She's been to the beach, Duke Gardens, Disney World, Epcot, Clearwater, and a concert in the park. Here is the evidence.
This is Caroline's first visit to the beach. She visited Surfside Beach with her mommy and her step-grandmother.
Here she is at Duke Gardens with Drew and Ella, the progeny of the (in)famous Doug and Melissa. This is as close to Duke as her father will allow.
Here she is in her first sun dress.
This is her first trip to visit her great-aunts, Peggy and Lu.
She's preparing for her first kiss....from her cousin Jonah.

Her first outdoor concert (post-utero).
First visit to Clearwater to see her great grandmother Sara.

Caroline Has Arrived!!!
After much anticipation, Caroline has arrived. Her full name is Caroline Leigh Davis and she was born at 6:25 am on June 16, 2005. She weighed a whopping 9 lbs. 14 oz. and was 22 1/2 inches long. We plan to have a detailed entry on the whole birth process, but here are some pictures for now. We also have an Ofoto album you can view.
Here she is in the nursery just after being born.
She's still in the nursery, but she's now had her bath.
Since Jennifer had a c-section, Caroline had to wait for her first meal. Her fist looked pretty good at this point.
Here's the beautiful mother and her new daughter. Jennifer had just come back from recovery.

3D Picture
We finally got a good 3D picture! She still has an arm near her face, but you can see most of it. Here it is:
Isn't she cute!!! She is now estimated to be 6 lbs. 9 oz. They think she'll be around 8 lbs. at birth.

New Ultrasound
We went for another ultrasound today. They checked out the baby girl and she is fine. She weighs 4 lbs. 7 oz. and is the 50% percentile for weight. You can't get more normal than that. Her brain and major organ measurements were also all normal. They tried to get a good picture of her face to do a 3d, but she was being very shy. The best picture we got (i.e. you can tell what it is) was of her hand. Here it is:
