Favorite Pinball Machines

Most of you probably know that I love to play pinball. In fact, I even have a Williams Cyclone machine in my office. I thought I'd go through some of my favorites (in no particular order):

Cyclone
This machine is a classic! My college roommate Mike and I played this machine almost every day of our freshman and sophomore years at UNC. It is fast, vindictive, and highly addictive.

Kiss
This is a classic. I used to play this machine at the YMCA in Butler, PA when I was about nine years old. Who can resist hearing Kiss songs played in glorious monophonic computer tones. It also has a great "blugga blugga" sound when the ball is striking the bumpers.

Addam's Family
This is a classic and is highly collectible. It's a lot of fun to play while drinking Schlitz.

Diner
For the most part, this is a simple machine. What makes it stand out are the great voices of the "customers" you have to feed and the coffee cup that you can use to get bonus points.

Pinbot
Another classic that is highly collectible. Awesome ramps and a very exciting multi-ball.

High Speed
Overall this is a simple machine, but I really like the use of the flipper on the upper-right. There is one ramp that you must use that flipper for.

Whirlwind
This machine has several unique features. First, it has a fan on the backglass that blows air on you. Second, it's got these cool spinning sections on the table that shoot your ball all over the place.

Medieval Madness
It's Mediaval Madness. Enough said.

Street Fighter 2
The car crush is awesome. This machine has a lot of video game interludes. Lots of fun.

Haunted House
This machine has two complete levels!

Simpsons
Who doesn't like the Simpsons?

Funhouse
You gotta love a machine that has a big talking head that tells jokes and insults you.

Go Hokies!

Having graduated from UNC, I tend to root for any team that is playing Duke in basketball. Tonight it's the new-to-the-ACC Virginia Tech Hokies. Go Hokies!

Turn Back the Clock

Tonight is "Turn Back the Clock" night on ESPN's coverage of the UNC/Virginia game. Tonight they are using the jerseys and television graphics from 1981. The announcers are also dressed in early 1980's attire. Len Elmore is even sporting an enormous afro!

By the way, I got to thinking....None of the students at the game were even born in 1981. In fact, I bet most of them weren't even born by 1985. Man, do I feel old.

First Posting

Well, I finally decided to set up some blogging software so that I can update the site more easily. I thought, what better way to kick on the blog than with some pictures of our yet-to-be-born little girl.

Here are some of the ultra-cool 3d sonigram images we have:
